As coronavirus cases rise again, Biden pleads with Americans to get vaccinated

At a news conference Tuesday, President Biden reminded Americans that while many communities are reopening, the coronavirus pandemic is far from over. 

In his remarks, Biden also warned about the Delta variant.

“It seems to me, it should cause everyone to think twice, and It should cause reconsideration, especially in young people, who thought they didn’t need to be vaccinated,” Biden said.

Biden announced a five-point approach to get more people vaccinated, including a door-to-door campaign. 

The Biden administration missed the President’s self-imposed July 4 deadline of having 70 percent of all adults at least partially vaccinated, instead reaching 66%.

The number of Americans getting one of the three covid vaccines is slowing.

As of July 1, the average decreased by 45.3% from the previous week according to the CDC.

It also shows, more than 603 thousand Americans have died from covid, with 33.5 million infections.
