Some experts are accusing China of stealing U.S. military secrets to build a fifth-generation fighter jet that closely resembles that of the U.S. military’s fleet. China’s J-20 fighter jet and the U.S. F-22 Raptor fighters are so similar, some consider it a closing of a gap between the two militaries in terms of technological capabilities.

According to sources who spoke to Fox News Digital, they suspect China copied U.S. military technology as acts of espionage.

Former U.S. Defense official James Anderson says China uses a range of spy tactics to steal classified information from the U.S.

Anderson said China uses spies on the ground to recruit U.S. government personnel and obtain sensitive information. He also claims China uses cyber activity to learn about U.S. military systems.

The former government official is warning that the U.S. needs to do more to safeguard its military secrets in a time when the U.S. and China are staging what could be opposite sides of the battlefield if China were to invade Taiwan.

There has been a renewed focus on China’s threat to national security after a Chinese spy balloon was found hovering over the U.S. and near military sites.
