Longworth: ISIS is using Afghanistan as a base for plotting terrorist attacks in Europe and Asia…along with aspirational attacks against the U.S. This is according to the Discord leaks—dozens of classified Pentagon documents, allegedly leaked on the messaging platform by a Massachusetts Air National Guardsman named Jack Teixeira.

The documents, obtained by The Washington Post, reveal plans to attack embassies, churches, business centers and even the FIFA World Cup. Apparently, ISIS had up to 15 plots by February of this year.

The analysis says: “ISIS has been developing a cost-effective model for external operations that relies on resources from outside Afghanistan, operatives in target countries, and extensive facilitation networks.”

Historically, Afghanistan’s ISIS affiliate—ISIS-K—and the Taliban—the ruling administration have been at odds.

This intel about terrorist plots comes less than two years after President Biden withdrew US troops from Afghanistan.
