Medical marijuana is coming to Florida gas stations

One of the largest marijuana producers in the country just signed a deal that will make buying medical marijuana in Florida convenient. Green Thumb Industries and Circle K, the global convenience store retailer, are partnering on a deal to sell licensed medical marijuana products at 10 gas stations in Florida.

The select locations are expected to open next year, but the news is already garnering plenty of attention online.

According to a press release from Green Thumb, Circle K will lease space at the gas stations to Green Thumb. The pot producer will use the deal to promote its RISE Express brand of marijuana retail shops.

Now, this won’t be the first time weed will be sold at gas stations. You can fill your tank and grab a blunt in some Colorado convenience stores, where medical and recreational marijuana are legal. The deal between Green Thumb and Circle K, however, marks the largest collaboration so far between a marijuana manufacturer and a chain of convenience stores.

Green Thumb’s founder, Ben Kovler, said “The opening of RISE Express stores at Circle K locations is a game-changer. The new RISE Express model is a huge step forward in making it easier and more efficient for patients to purchase high-quality cannabis as part of their everyday routine.”
