Russia buys North Korean rockets – A U.S. official revealed Russia’s defense ministry is in the process of buying millions of rockets and artillery shells from North Korea to use in Ukraine. The U.S. official did not detail how much weaponry Russia intends to purchase from North Korea but said more purchases are expected to come. The report comes after it was recently confirmed that Russia took delivery of Iranian-manufactured drones last month.
Boris Johnson to formally resign – Boris Johnson has arrived at Queen Elizabeth’s estate in Scotland to formally offer his resignation as British prime minister. Johnson announced his intention to resign back in July. The resignation paves the way for Liz Truss to take over. On Monday, she was named the leader of Britain’s Conservative Party.
Uvalde students return to class – For the first time since May’s mass shooting at Robb Elementary, students in Uvalde are set to return to the classroom today in a new building. The first day of school was pushed back as the school district worked on implementing enhanced security measures. Several of those measures remain incomplete such as high fencing around school campuses. The start of the school year comes two weeks after the district’s police chief was fired.
