  • Eyes are on the Virginia governor’s race between Democrat Terry McAuliffe and Republican Glenn Youngkin. McAuliffe served as the state’s governor from 2014 to 2018. Youngkin has been endorsed by former President Trump.
  • About 100 countries promised to cut methane emissions at COP26, the climate conference in Glasgow. President Biden said the U.S. would also prioritize preventing deforestation. “Forests have the potential to…reduce carbon globally by more than one third,” Biden said.
  • An L.A. Times piece revealed about 94 percent of the units in a planned UC Santa Barbara dorm building would be windowless. The building was designed by Berkshire Hathaway Vice Chairman Charlie Munger. An architect quit over the project.
