Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer to retire, opening door for Biden nominee

By

Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer will retire at the end of the current court term. The 83-year-old is one of three sitting justices appointed by a Democratic president.

Since taking the White House and Senate, some Democrats have been calling for Breyer to step down while Democrats can confirm a new justice who can serve for decades.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg died in September 2020, allowing former President Donald Trump to nominate 49-year-old Amy Coney Barrett to replace her before Trump left office.

Biden has not named a possible replacement.

Democrats GET TO PICK A NEW SUPREME COURT JUSTICE.

WEDNESDAY.. 83 YEAR OLD STEPHEN BREYER ANNOUNCED HE’S RETIRING AT THE END OF THE CURRENT COURT TERM.

FOR MONTHS.. DEMOCRATS HAVE BEEN CALLING FOR HIM TO STEP DOWN WHILE THEY HAVE BOTH THE WHITE HOUSE AND THE SENATE…

SO A YOUNGER JUSTICE… WHO COULD SERVE FOR DECADES COULD BE CONFIRMED.

RUTH BADER GINSBURG DIED WHILE SERVING..

ALLOWING TRUMP TO NOMINATE AMY CONEY BARRET TO REPLACE HER.

AND IT’S IMPORTANT FOR DEMOCRATS TO HAVE BOTH THE SENATE AND THE WHITE HOUSE..

BECAUSE REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED WITH MERRICK GARLAND

TAKE SOT- Merrick GARLAND

<< This is the greatest honor of my life (cries) other than Lynn agreeing to marry me 28 years ago…” (20:46-20:56)

Annie Andersen: BUT THEN AS DEMOCRATS DIDN’T CONTROL THE SENATE…

GARLAND DIDN’T EVEN GET A HEARING- LET ALONE A VOTE.

BUT NOW IS HIS CHANCE RIGHT?

I MEAN EVEN RETIRED SENATOR ORRIN HATCH SAID THERE WAS “no question” Merrick Garland could be confirmed to the Supreme Court.

AND HE’S FAIRLY CONSERVATIVE AS FAR AS DEMOCRATS GO..

MEANING SENATORS joe MANCHIN AND kyrsten SINEMA SHOULD SUPPORT HIM.

BUT PRESIDENT BIDEN ALREADY PROMISED TO NOMINATE A BLACK FEMALE JUSTICE. GARLAND IS NOT THAT.

FRONTRUNNERS INCLUDE federal Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson A former Breyer law clerk, and Leondra Kruger, a justice on California’s Supreme Court.

AND FUN TIMEs.. THE NEW COURT TERM STARTS OCTOBER 3.. SO JUST IN TIME FOR MIDTERM MADNESS.

STRAIGHT FROM DC I’M AA
